jojotalk ("the app", "we", "us") is an entertainment app that playfully "translates" between you and your pet. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using jojotalk you agree to this policy.

The short version: You can use jojotalk as a guest with no account. If you sign in, we sync your pet profiles and translation history so you don't lose them. Voice recordings are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. We don't sell your data.

1. Information we collect

Account info (only if you sign in). When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a user identifier and your email address. Guest mode requires no account and collects no identity.
Your in-app content. Pet profiles (name, optional age/breed/avatar) and your translation history (short text labels and the sounds played). If you're signed in, this is synced to our backend so it follows you across devices.
Microphone audio. With your permission, the app records short clips to generate a fun "translation." This audio is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
Purchase status. If you subscribe, our payments provider tells us whether your subscription is active. We never receive your card or payment details.

2. How we use it

To provide the app's features (translations, pet profiles, history).
To sync your content across your devices when you're signed in.
To manage subscriptions and restore purchases.
To keep the app working and fix problems.

3. Service providers

We use trusted third parties to run the app. Each only receives what it needs:

Supabase — secure storage of your account and synced content.
Apple & Google — sign-in (you choose whether to use them).
RevenueCat & the App Store — subscription management and billing.

4. Data retention & deletion

We keep your synced content while your account exists. You can delete individual pets and history entries in the app at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at the address below and we'll remove it.

5. Children

jojotalk is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Your choices

Use guest mode to avoid creating an account.
Deny microphone access in your device settings (recording features won't be available).
Request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us.

7. Entertainment disclaimer

jojotalk is for entertainment. "Translations" are generated for fun and are not a literal interpretation of animal communication.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
